Marineplus directs 5% of every cleanup to Baltic Sea conservation work. This is a permanent practice that aims to support concrete work to improve the state of the Baltic Sea and promote conservation.
Donations are allocated to actors who carry out independent and effective environmental work in marine areas. We monitor the projects ourselves and ensure that the support is used for the intended purpose.
In this way, each cleaning also supports a larger whole – keeping the environment clean in the future.
Why is protecting the Baltic Sea important?
The Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted and sensitive marine areas in the world. Its shallowness, low water exchange rate and large catchment areas make it particularly vulnerable to eutrophication, anoxia and chemical pollution.
As boaters and users of the sea, we have a special responsibility and opportunity to influence its future. Small actions, such as reducing chemical pollution and taking care of nature, together build a bigger change. Financial support in the right places accelerates research, conservation efforts and concrete environmental projects.
